The Advanced Computing Research Centre (ACRC) was formed to act as a University-wide focus for research in the areas of computer science, software engineering and computer engineering. The Centre forms the research arm of the School of Computer and Information Science and is a core component of the University’s research strategy in communications and information technology.
Research
ACRC research is oriented towards two main types of funding sources: ARC Discovery and Linkage grants, and participation in Collaborative Research Centres. Currently these are the CRC for Integrated Engineering Asset Management (CIEAM) and the CRC for Advanced Automotive Technology (CRC Auto). In addition, collaborative projects exist with universities and research institutions in Australia as well as Austria, Canada, China, Germany, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK and the USA.
In 2008, the former eight ACRC Labs were reorganised into four concentrations to facilitate collaboration and provide critical mass for larger external collaboration. For details of projects and researchers of the laboratories, follow the links below.
